Research Interest

Randy Phillips is part of Dr. Atiyeh’s team in developing an intellectual property portfolio of fundamental science and process applications to achieve commercial success with bacterial conversion of CO and H2 to acetic acid, ethanol and other industrially important chemicals. CO and H2 can be obtained from syngas produced from biomass and waste materials for sustainable production of fuel and chemicals with a low carbon footprint.
